L’amitié de Gaston Miron et Henri Pichette

Lorsqu’ils se rencontrent en 1958, Gaston Miron et Henri Pichette pressentent peut-être que leur amitié sera celle d’une vie. Ils ne peuvent cependant deviner les difficultés qu’ils affronteront en cherchant à diffuser leurs travaux respectifs de part et d’autre de l’océan. Quelles représentations idéologiques et politiques cette amitié traverse-t-elle ? Quel a été son rôle dans l’évolution poétique de Miron et de Pichette ? La correspondance inédite de ces derniers nous donne un accès privilégié aux prémisses des années de militantisme du poète québécois. Plus largement, elle dresse un premier portrait de l’amitié franco-québécoise de deux des plus grands poètes du vingtième siècle.When they met in 1958, Gaston Miron and Henri Pichette may have sensed that their friendship would last a lifetime. What they could not have foreseen were the difficulties they would face as they attempted to disseminate their respective works on each side of the ocean. What ideological and political representations did this friendship go through? What part did it play in the poetic evolution of Miron and Pichette? The unpublished correspondence of the two writers provides us with privileged access to the premises of the Quebec poet’s activist years. More generally, it offers a first portrait of a Franco-Québécois relationship, the friendship between two of the twentieth century’s greatest poets

A General Framework for the Derivation of Regular Expressions

The aim of this paper is to design a theoretical framework that allows us to perform the computation of regular expression derivatives through a space of generic structures. Thanks to this formalism, the main properties of regular expression derivation, such as the finiteness of the set of derivatives, need only be stated and proved one time, at the top level. Moreover, it is shown how to construct an alternating automaton associated with the derivation of a regular expression in this general framework. Finally, Brzozowski's derivation and Antimirov's derivation turn out to be a particular case of this general scheme and it is shown how to construct a DFA, a NFA and an AFA for both of these derivations.Comment: 22 page

L’obsession du corps et la poésie québécoise. Une tentative d’ouverture théorique à partir des poèmes de Claude Beausoleil, Nicole Brossard et Michel Beaulieu

La poésie québécoise des années 1970 et 1980 envisage le corps comme l’espace de la pratique d’écriture et comme le signe fondamental du poétique. Cet article examine le statut théorique paradoxal du mot « corps » à partir des poèmes de Claude Beausoleil, de Nicole Brossard et de Michel Beaulieu, et avance que le critique et le poète partagent un même imaginaire à son sujet, si bien que la notion de métadiscours devient problématique. Il propose enfin de relire l’histoire de la poésie québécoise moderne, à partir des Haikas et Outas de Jean-Aubert Loranger, en cherchant les lois de cet imaginaire.Quebec’s poetry of the 70’s and the 80’s focuses on the body, both as a space of writing and as a major poetic sign. The aim of this article is to observe how the word « body » creates theoretical paradoxes in some of Claude Beausoleil, Nicole Brossard and Michel Beaulieu’s poems, and then to suggest that the poet and the critic share a common imagination of the body. Therefore, the idea of a metadiscursive position becomes uncertain. Finally, we intend to read the history of Quebec’s modern poetry, beginning with Jean-Aubert Loranger Haikas and Outas, in search of the characteristics of this imagination

State complexity of catenation combined with a boolean operation: a unified approach

In this paper we study the state complexity of catenation combined with symmetric difference. First, an upper bound is computed using some combinatoric tools. Then, this bound is shown to be tight by giving a witness for it. Moreover, we relate this work with the study of state complexity for two other combinations: catenation with union and catenation with intersection. And we extract a unified approach which allows to obtain the state complexity of any combination involving catenation and a binary boolean operation

CLT for fluctuations of linear statistics in the Sine-beta process

We prove, for any $\beta >0$, a central limit theorem for the fluctuations of linear statistics in the Sine-$\beta$ process, which is the infinite volume limit of the random microscopic behavior in the bulk of one-dimensional log-gases at inverse temperature $\beta$. If $\phi$ is a compactly supported test function of class $C^4$, and $\mathcal{C}$ is a random point configuration distributed according to Sine-$\beta$, the integral of $\phi(\cdot / \ell)$ against the random fluctuation $d\mathcal{C} - dx$, converges in law, as $\ell$ goes to infinity, to a centered normal random variable whose standard deviation is proportional to the Sobolev $H^{1/2}$ norm of $\phi$ on the real line. The proof relies on the DLR equations for Sine-$\beta$ established by Dereudre-Hardy-Ma\"ida and the author, the Laplace transform trick introduced by Johansson, and a transportation method previously used for $\beta$-ensembles at macroscopic scale.Comment: 48

In this paper, we present the Nu@ge project aimed at building a federation of container-sized datacenter on the French territory. Nu@ge provides a software stack that enables companies to put independent datacenters in cooperation in a national mesh.
